Denise M. Baranowski is the Principal of The Divorce Financial Group, LLC. She combines her extensive experience in investment management and in the divorce, retirement and financial planning with the global investment capabilities of her firm.

She is a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst (CDFA) and a Certified Trust and Financial Advisor (CTFA) and is a registered representative and investment advisor with Woodbury Financial Services/AIG. Denise holds her Series 6, 7, 31, 63, 65 and 66 licenses and is also licensed in life, health, disability, long-term care and variable insurance and annuities. She is a graduate of Houghton College in New York with a Bachelors degree in Organizational Management.

She previously worked as a paralegal for several international east coast law firms specializing in tax and estate planning, employee benefits, corporate and corporate litigation, and as a financial advisor for Sanford C. Bernstein, J.P. Morgan, Merrill Lynch and Morgan Stanley both in Chicago and in New York.

Denise cofounded the Suburban Chicago Planned Giving Council in 1995 and was a Board Member of The Chicago Council on Planned Giving. She was a member of the Advisory Committee for the New York Public Library and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. She also served as a member of the advisory councils for several organizations including the State of Illinois Charitable Advisory Committee, the Lincoln Park Zoo, the Museum of Science and Industry; Roosevelt University, the United Way of Chicago, the American Cancer Society, WTTW, the Chicago Foundation for Women and the DuPage Community Foundation.

She is a member of the Association of Divorce Financial Planners (ADFP), Institute for Divorce Financial Analysts (IDFA) and the American Bankers Association (ABA).

In her free time, Denise enjoys to travel, play golf, and read.
